Since Bud Myers had the unfortunate experience of haveing a bunch of his chips stolen, I've had a lot of people buying the Collector's Assist Plus chip database program from me. Some just finally decided to get things in order before the convention, while others realized it was a real good idea to have a complete listing along with scans as documentation for insurance purposes.
Lately, I've had a lot of emails asking questions on importing from other lists and other databases into the program, so I thought I'd answer a few questions here so everyone could see.
First off...YES, you can import your old database or list into the Collector's Assistant Plus program. There are easy instructions on how to do it, in a step by step fashion that walks you through the import process. You just need to save the old database as a "tab delimeted" file. The, once you have your new collection database just how you like it (adding or removing any fields you want) you then can attach the old list fields to your new database fields.
Yes- you can use this program for Silver Strikes
Yes- you can use this program for tokens
Yes- you can use it for slot cards.
The only difference in using it for chips rather than other collectables is that you will need to add fields for any specific thing other then chips. The 4,000 scans oincluded woith the database are all of chips, so you'd have to use your own scans.
Yes- I'm still offering to give free bonus scan cd's at least once a year (hopefully twice a year) forever, which would include every single scan I've made. Actually...it's almost free. I charge one dollar to cover the cost of the blank cd, bubble mailer and postage.
No-you don't have to be a computer whiz to use this program. There are LOTS of fellow chippers that have only minimal computer skills, that are using this program without any problems. Sure, if you are totally computer iliterate, it may take you a few days of playing around with it to really get the feel. But, I'm always just an email or phonecall away to help.
