NCR A few yard sale finds this weekend.....

This is a story about sometimes being the big dog and sometimes being the hydrant.

Here are a few pieces of crystal glassware I picked up this weekend while on the 60 mile long yard sale Friday and a subdivision sale on saturday. One of my many bad habits is collecting art glass and pottery. Of course I was really looking for casino chips, dice and matches. I found a few decent matches but the only chips I got were at a coin show and were overpriced. Didn't even see any dice this time.

Anyway I got these four signed pieces of glassware. There is a Lenox, Val St. Lambert, Tudor and Steuben. Can you pick out the REALLY good piece?

The St. Lambert candlestick and small Lenox vase are priced in the $25-60 range. I couldn't find a value for the Tudor piece which is the large pitcher with a really neat swirl in the base. Similiar pieces were in the $200-300 range. The large vase is a signed Steuben. It came in the original box. I checked the Steuben web site and it is still offered for sale. How much you ask?? How about $1000 retail!

And how much did I pay for these four pieces? Would you believe $14 TOTAL? Oh yeah, I picked up a really neat, 100 year old quilt for Cindys collection for $30 also. This was my weekend to be the big dog even if I didn't get any good chips. The fun is in the hunt!! vbg
