Thanks for the pics Roy. Good idea, suggesting periodicals at the library. I looked up Silver Dollar Bar. According to Harold Sr. in his book I Want To Quit Winners, the bar was on the second floor and the bar top featured 2141 silver dollars laminated into it. Kling's A Family Affair tells us that Sr. was hardly a "winner" at the place as he would sit in the bar and drink for hours, days, weeks and finally after a month or so, the family would haul him out to St. Mary's hospital for a strait-jacket dryout.

A short-lived feature of The Silver Dollar Bar was the Whiskey Waterfall which featured, well, a waterfall of whiskey. Trouble was, the fumes made the service staff loopy and generally was a odorous nuisance that outweighed the novelty aspect of the idea.
