The information you're talking about (the histories of particular issues) is not made up of publicly disclosed facts and numbers, but mostly based on rumor, buying experience and third hand accounts of who bought how many chips from whom and when they bought them.

Yes, it would be nice for the club to have a full-time staff of "chip historians" who would update a free ever-changing reference guide for collectors. (I wonder how much THAT would increase annual dues ) But, even if such a free guide existed, much of what they published would still have to be based on speculation.

The authors of the various printed chip guides available (The Chip Rack, The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide, etc.) do a great job of documenting what you're asking about, based on the information they have available. (Be sure to read all of the footnotes, and get familiar with Part II of The Chip Rack)

And the board you're reading right now is another great place to research. You'll be surprised how much information is contained in the archives once you learn how to search them. Most of the time when there's a "find" of new chips, or a sudden glut appears in the market of a particular issue, it's discussed here.
