I seriously doubt a coincidence regarding the first name.

Ok I'll state it now here for the record. I believe that the grading system these folks are using comes from.

THE OFFICIAL U.S. CASINO CHIP PRICE GUIDE
EDITION 1 AND 2

EDITION 2 on page 35

These slabbing folks find a book and use it as a bible for the hobby. I understand that the newest Edition 3 of THE OFFICIAL U.S. CASINO CHIP PRICE GUIDE has revised the grading system to concur with the ccgtcc recognized grading system. As posted in the book review here by James L. Perlowski.

KUDOS to the author's here!

I've seen this 100 Point grading scale on most of the slabs appearing on eBay. Even by SGS using this chip grading scale on Silver Strikes and Tokens which aren't even "chips".

Unfortunately, we will have to live with this grading scale for a while until the slabbers out their decide slabbing both casino "CHIPS" and "TOKENS" is not a worthwhile venture.

On a good note I see that SGS hasn't offered any "Casino Slabs" in well over 30 days. Let's hope they gave up.

Unfortunately, I feel that any grading system will ultimately lead to slabbing in our hobby. It's just up to us "the collectors" to not endorse slabbing by buying them.
