Re: Jim Gagnon's Winter Round Robin

Absolutely....

A Round Robin is a unique way to trade chips. On occasion, someone will start one up here on the chipboard. There is often a theme to the Round Robin. Themes I have seen in the past are:

  • $1 Indian Chips
  • Nevada $1 chips
  • Snappers ($2.50 chips
  • non-Nevada
  • ...

When enough participants sign up (typically 8-10), the originator of the Round Robin will put together a package generally including the following:

  • anywhere from about 20-40 qualifying chips
  • Round Robin theme/guidelines
  • a participant list including mailing addresses
  • a sheet to keep track of transactions

As each participant receives the package, they are welcome to take as many chips as they desire replacing each one with a qualifying chip of there own. They then send the package (usually w/ delivery tracking and insurance) on to the next participant.

In order to make participation worthwhile, it is best if you have several qualifying chips as duplicate chips are generally not allowed.

Does that help?
