NCR Banknote of the Day.....

Today’s selection comes from the French Overseas Department of Martinique, located in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies between St. Lucia and Dominica. Christopher Columbus discovered Martinique in 1502 and France took possession in 1635. The British controlled it for three short periods afterward. Later in 1958 Martinique voted reaffirmation of that status.
The note is a 1947~49 issue 50 Franc. The portrait on the left is that of Belain d’Esnambuc. The back depicts a topless woman. This note has a collector’s value of about $35. If it were UNC would be valued at $135. The exchange rate is meaningless as the currency is now obsolete. ENJOY!
