Caesars Palace at Sea loses a ship

Crystal Cruises will lose the popular Crystal Harmony when the ship leaves the fleet in December. After a scheduled drydock, the Harmony will sail for Japan-based parent company NYK Cruises, as the Asuka II. The Asuka II will not be marketed in North America.

The Harmony set new standards for large ship (980 passengers) luxury when it launched in 1990. With the departure of the Harmony, Crystal will have two ships remaining, the Crystal Serenity and the Crystal Symphony. There has been talk of building a new ship, but no contract has been signed at this time. The Harmony's last cruise for Crystal will depart Los Angeles for the Mexican Riviera on November 18. For nostalgic past passengers and others who want to experience this 6-star trendsetter before she leaves the fleet, the link below will take you to a list of her remaining voyages.
