Weird Slot Token (NCR)

Last week I posted looking for info. on something called the "Silver Cup". A possible connection to horse racing? I found this token on eBay. What struck me (get it? struck me? vbg) was the similarity of the BC design on this token and the BC design on the plain mold chip from the Brook Club in Saratoga, NY.

The token is copper, 21mm, with the standard "Good For 5 (for five cents) In Trade" on the reverse. I'm thinking it's an old slot token, but where's it from? The token came in an old cardboard flip with the notation "Detroit, MI or San Francisco, CA" written on it. The seller didn't have any solid info.

Any comment s are welcome! Thanks.
