Even within law, copyright law is a recognized specialty, and I am not a copyright attorney, but I do not believe you have violated any copyright here. The copyright would belong to tthe author, not eBay, but this is not the type of writing that I think can be copyrighted. As others pointed out, could you copyright the words "keep out of reach of children"? Of course not. Then there is the matter of damages. If you steal his photo, and sell it, you owe him what you made from his work. How does he document the amount of sales attributable to these stolen instructions. In short - ignore him. I wouldn't even dignafy it with a reply.
