The rumor is that the Big Slick Social Club in Bohemia, New York (Suffolk County, Long Island) has been raided and shut down. The rumor also has it that those patrons who had money on the tables lost it all. I don't know if it's true, or, if it is, whether they plan on re-opening in another location. I have heard that they had serious parking issues in Bohemia, because they were in a residential area, which caused friction with the community. I would presume they are gone for good, but their web-site merely says that the site is undergoing reconstruction.

For those that wanted chips, I apologize for not being able to visit the club again before it closed. Ironically, I was trying to convince people to go there last weekend, but no one wanted to take the ride. I knew I should have gone.

It remains to be seen if other Long Island clubs are about to suffer a similar fate.
