Other precious-metal tokens

I don't know of any US dollar gaming tokens in gold, Jerry. However, Franklin Mint struck one piece of the first issue Harrahs Reno/Tahoe dollar token as a Proof in PLATINUM! I believe it was presented to Bill Harrah. FM catalog number DGT-5/A40/P.

I wonder who has it now?

There was also a Monte Carlo (Monaco) token struck by FM in gold. I don't believe it replicated any active live token, though. I've forgotten the year now, but at least 30 years ago.

Then there is the Caesars Palace 1000 "baccarat" piece in 10k gold. Probably used for special games only, and certainly not a slot token in those early years. I've wondered why this one is not in The Chip Rack... it's metal, but not a token. There are brass core chips in TCR. This item likely served as a "chip" when it was played. Pic below is not from my collection. Might be from SteveP's.
