Sweet looking dogs Mike! I too rescue dogs. I help rescue ex-racing Greyhounds. My 1st. ex-racer was a Brindle named Millie. Her racing name was "9-Mile Millie". She was retired after 2 years because she almost caught the rabbit.

I had her for 6 years before she died of a heart attack. Racers are not treated well at the track, and many suffer from diseases and stress.

My newest Racer is a Fawn called AJ. Her racing name was "Aljo Jate". She only ran for 2 and a half years before she broke a toe. She was scheduled to be put down for the broken toe when the adoption league got hold of her. Her toe was amputated (they have to do that with greyhounds).

I would urge anybody who is looking for a dog to adopt, to consider an ex-racing, Greyhound. They are wonderfull companions and are great with children and other pets. And no, they will not chase your cats! They "will" lounge on the couch, steal your easy chair, and haul the kitchen trash around tho!
