Yeah I put it together with what I have learned from free tutorials online and a beginner's HTML class in school.

It's mostly all in HTML using TextPad as an editor (my favorite text viewer/editor ever) Textpad color-codes the comments, reserved words etc. to help readability.

The counter and guestbook stuff was just dropped in from the Yahoo templates, no coding on my part.

Although I haven't used anything fancy on this site, I have used some stuff in the past from www.dseffects.com. They have some cool java applets for background effects, fire clocks, picture effects, etc...
