Jeff, When you say: "Not in Chip Guide"...
In Response To: Not in Chip Guide ()

Are you referring to Greg Susong's spectacular ChipGuide.com? If so, that is because....

Greg's ChipGuide page has links to many sites. Some that he maintains and others maintained by other people. Since most are accessible from the map of the US, there is an appearance that they are all Greg's. However, the two Nevada sites are not Greg's, and both of those sites operate a bit differently.

The first one listed is maintained by Paul Hegge, and other than the Brothel Chips he has posted there, all of his scans are of Nevada chips that he has had the pleasure of holding and scanning. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, what you see is what Paul has in his collection, or what he has "borrowed" from the casino, long enough to scan and return to the cage. (You will see quite a few higher denomination chips on Paul's site. Paul does what he can to stay current of Nevada chips, but that is a monumental task!!!

If the Flamingo Rockette chip is not there, it is only beacuse he has not held one long enough to scan it, or he has not had someone send him a good scan.

BTW_Paul's website is: www.silverstatetreasures.com

The second listing for Nevada is a link to a website maintained by Robert Cruz. That website is an on-line database where individual collectors upload scans of chips in their collections. From there a visitor call search for all Nevada chips and then view the chips. Or search Flamingo and see Flamingo chips, or do as I did and search "Flamingo rockettes". In doing so, the one you are looking for was there, as well as the other three (the later set). However, if none of the participants to Robert's website had the chip, then it would not be there.

BTW-Robert's website, the "Chip and Gaming Token Database" is located at: www.chipdb.com

Note also that my description of Robert's ChipDB.com is very pared down from all the features available there.

I hope this helps,

Jim Follis
