Re: I read their Code of Ethics, an

Our code of ethics is fine.

Chip collecting is the only hobby or collectible ONLY that I have ever been in contact with that the members are so willing to share information.

Nothing is perfect, we have a small number of people who will have a box of "rare" chips and dribble them out, one at a time at inflated values. There have been scammers who have come and gone. But overall, people are more interested in having fun collecting instead of making a quick buck.

The fact that most members were against slabbing and grading, is a sign that people don't want to head the way of stamps, coins, baseball cards, comic books and other collectibles that were trashed and ruined by inflated rarity and excessive grading standards.

It's a piece of plastic with a history for goodness sake!

Even the dealers in the chip and token hobby hold themselves to higher standards than any other area I've ever seen. Many are collectors but even those that are not, still set an example of fairness and open dealings.

We should be proud of the way the members and the club set the higher standard than most other collectible hobbys, without convoluted, lengthy codes and rules.

Just a bunch of good people, having a good time.
