I simply think it is better not to respond to personal attacks. I would prefer to build people up rather than try to tear them down. I am not a lawyer, but I work for a legal publisher. Slander and libel are two of the most difficult areas to prove. I don't know what motivates some of the people that use this board to attack each other, but I don't enjoy it and I stated my opinion. I just don't think that personal attacks advance the hobby and I say that with this caveat: if someone is selling fraudulent chips or doctored chips, that is a legitimate area for discussion and I don't consider that a personal attack. But some of what I have seen in recent weeks on this board, is just plain provocation for the sake of fighting -- and that is the way it appeared to me and I have so stated. It could just be good-natured fun between friends, but I do not know these individuals personally and I can only state how it appears in black and white print. I know from personal experience in email, that something said in cold emotionless print looks a whole lot different than something said in person. I know that we are all different and respond to situations in all kinds of ways. It just confounds me that people that I have purchased chips from and in some cases sold chips to, attack each other on this board. I have had nothing but positive experiences from all of these individuals. Friendly rivalry is one thing, but it seems to have crossed the line more than once into open warfare and I just don't think that's good.
