The Chip Board Archive 12

for saleChips from VFW Post 8615 - Long Beach, CA.

These chips were originally ordered by an officer of Post 8615 (Long Beach, CA.), William A. Ward. Mr. Ward, a Vietnam veteran, had presented the chips to Post 8615 to replace the dirty and worn generic chips that had long been used mainly in the Post's small stakes poker game.

According to figures given, the total number of chips ordered were very small. Only 200 of the $1 and $5 chips were ordered, only 100 of the $2.50 chips, and 50 of the little used higher denominations of $25 and $100.

Upon arrival at the Post, these beautiful chips received a VERY warm reception. Many were unexpectedly taken by VFW members as souvenirs and gifts. Because of this, the worn, generic chips are now back in use !!

A new and larger order of chips is being discussed. If it is placed, and the same designs again used, it has been decided that chips with different inserts will definitely be ordered. This would prevent any possible problem with "returning" chips.

These chips will be included in the next edition of the upcoming California chip price guide.

The few complete sets available are priced (using check or money order) at $69 + $3 P&H, $72 total.

If you'd like only the three lower denominations ($1, $2.50 & $5), they are priced at $39 + $3 P&H, $42 total.

If using PayPal, the total cost is $75 for the complete set or $45 for the set of three.
