IF CHIPS COULD TALK...this one would

tell tales of the many miners and entrepreneurs who rode into town with the dream of getting rich over night.

It would tell of the men who prayed for a winning hand, and those who walked away with nothing left to their name.

It might even tell about the ones who died trying to cheat or just attempting to survive.

Whatever this chip has seen, it makes for an interesting piece of gambling history.

This was sold with the following description from the seller. Any further information will be much appreciated.

This chip was sold to me as an original early c1900 "MINERS POKER CHIP" from the famous "Gold Gulch Saloon" in Cripple Creek Colorado. It is clay and has gold stamping over red that says "GOLD GULCH 1/2" It is the size of a standard poker chip and is in excellent condition. A 1904 city directory from Cripple Creek & Victor Colorado list a Gold Gulch Saloon. A nice piece from a famous Colorado gold mining town...
