I've never found that out. When the cardrooms were knocked out in 1954 by Edmund Brown (by saying that they could not play for money) they were supposed to be social clubs anyway. I'll try to find out, but I understand that there were almost 200 of them in SF at that time. emeryville cardrooms, in thw post Ww II doldrums got quite a boost from the SF players coming over to the east bay to play poker!!
