I won't criticize Jim's because I don't have one, but my little keychain version, doesn't have the right light frequency or intensity for chips. It shows a little but not enough to be useful all of the time.

Jim how about a testimonial? Does it work well?

My favorite portable, and some people here sell them, I don't, is the little portable with the flouescent tube. It's about 5" long and 2 " wide and uses four AA batteries.

If you are only looking for home use, get the 110V type that plugs in. They aren't cheap, but they are very very good, and even show UV markings on used chips. 10w bulb in a fixture. (see image)

Don't bother with the bulbs that go in a regular light socket, they don't work well.
