Re: Stardust Hotel Casino, Las Vegas Info. wanted

When I was in Las Vegas last June I stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton but gambled at the Stardust because the day after I arrived the Hilton was hosting a Pai-Gow tournament and they had changed all of the tables except for a couple of Blackjack and Roulette to Pai-Gow which left me high and dry for gambling (Their loss) but I have to say that I like the Stardust, In general the place is clean and the staff there is friendly and I did well at the tables.

You may want to seriously stock up on your Stardust chips because I've been reading in the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun that Boyd Gaming which owns the Stardust is seriously considering imploding the old girl and building a Borgata West. In fact In November 2004 Boyd purchased a 13 acre parcel next to the Stardust paying $43 million dollars, Currently there is a Budget Suites motel on that property but executives at Boyd are waiting to see how Steve Wynn's new resort does before they make any decisions on what they are going to do. IMHO they will probably implode it by the end of 2005 or sometime early to mid 2006 which is a shame because the Stardust is one of the last of the original strip casinos the only other one I can think of is Caesars, The Flamingo and The Sarhara. The El Rancho is gone, The Dunes is gone, The Sands is Gone, The Desert Inn is gone (Did I miss anyone?).
