My wife's sister and her husband (Jack & Jeannie Riedl, also members) live in Crown King, Arizona, north of Phoenix. They volunteer to help out at the Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife Association and have become good friends with Alie, the woman who runs it.

The Bradshaw Mountain Wildlife Association rescues injured, abandoned or abused wildlife and takes care of them while trying to find a permanent home for them.

In addition to running the Association, Alie has had an extremely interesting career working in various roles supporting performers on tour. She toured with Metallica for several years, and has more recently toured with Cher, Simon & Garfunkel, Alicia Keyes and most recently, Paul McCartney.

The Association has an auction to raise funds each year. This year, Paul McCartney donated an autographed copy of his book entitled "Paintings" to the auction. To make a long story short(er), my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law went in together to place the winning bid and give me the book for Christmas.

A book autographed by one of the Beatles! Pretty cool, huh?
