I have had 2 insurance claims. One was for a series of boxes with casino ashtrays in them. most of them were chipped or broken due to faulty packing. The other was for a neon light I bought on ebay that was also broken. Depending on how well you get along with you postmaster, the insurance claim can be reasonably painless or a huge problem. In both cases I got paid for the claims. The best news was that I eventually got the keep the damaged merchandise also.
