Re: So what... eBay will get more views in a week

I don't want to get into a big argument about statistical analysis or get into running down your site, BUT grin

You need to compare apples to apples. eBay gets those average views in 3 days, 7 days, 10 days? For chips that are 50c, $1, $2.50, $5 or ???

Your listed views on your site, could be 13 people who came to look (like I did) because of your posts here, with no intention of buying, but just to see what the site looks like. (if there were any Elko or Wisconsin chips that might change)

Some people on eBay list chips for ourageous prices and they will never sell. So that's listed as a non-sale and included in the listing values and final sales averages?

You don't even know if your chips are selling and how much the averages are for your own site?

OK, the point is that eBay gets selective views, from people who do a search and the counters can be set for individual views (one click for one person, no duplicates) or for every view that is not the same session.

Some of the lame auctions and some of the better chips, I have seen over 1000 views, which would throw the average viewws for the other 99 chips, way off.

I mostly would like to say that I agree with the general idea that you should promote your site on it's benefits and strengths, instead of the constant negative messages saying why eBay is not good.

I know what my chips cost me and what they sell for and yes sometimes I sell for less than what it cost me to get them, market them and mail them, on eBay. But then I don't have the chips sitting here, so I have the money for other things.

I know what my fixed costs are for an eBay listing and what percentage will be taken in fees after the sale. I have an idea of the postage and packing costs. I try to account for that in setting the starting price. As in, if it sells for the starting price, the worst I can do, is trade dollars and get my money back. That's eBay...

I'll say again. Best wishes, I hope your site is a success. Please consider promoting what your site offers a seller or a buyer.

Jackpot for te most part offers reduced fees and fixed listing fees, plus specials now and then. They seem to have been embraced by strike collectors more than chip collectors.

So tell me two things, and I'd guess they are the same questions that just about everyone here would ask.

1) Why should I come an buy chips that are listed on your site?

2) Why should I sell my chips on your site?

(I don't give a hoot what eBay does or doesn't do, I want to know what Collectors Fun will do for me!)
