A little about Borland and Blanchard

Roy,
1. Bill Borland was a chip manufacturer, distributer and dealer in the 1980's in Las Vegas. He wrote an early Catalog on chips called the "Blue Book". He was involved with "Nevada" Mold chips. He produced both regular issue Casino chips and Fanfasy chips. The Fantasy chips had the dates of operation of various Casinos printed on them and were often in high denominations - $1000, $5000, etc. These chips have been a hot collectible lately as people have rediscovered these chips. Borland died in the early 1990's.

2. Jim Blanchard is the owner of a chip manufacturing company in Portland, Maine. He owns many of the old chip dies and he is the succesor to several companies (Burt, Portland Card Co, Atlantic Standard, etc.) that formerly produced Crest and Seal chips and tons of different Molds of Clay chips. He is still in business and producing chips for Casinos and private games.

This is just a brief outline of the two individuals. Gene Trimble, Robert Eisenstadt and Rich Hanover could give you a lot more info on both of these men and their operations.

I hope this helps,
"Mr. Roulette"
