Re: Chip Distributor Question?
In Response To: Chip Distributor Question? ()

All 4 of the chips in your scan were made at the Burt Co in MA. The molds resided there. When molds wear out, Burt would send them to the distributor that paid to have them made. (if they wanted them) The Hourglass and lazy diamond were made for Rigdon, White got them in the buyout.
The dots and Disq were open molds. I believe Portland Card company was the last to use the Disq mold. Treyball for one, also used the dots.

Rigdon and White only hot stamped chips. I believe Rigdon was bought out by Whites.
Whites could have asked for the return of viable molds when they went out of business but doubtful. If not my guess is Blanchard still has the molds.
