You can't accept credit cards but you don't have to pay 2.9% and 30 cents every time somebody sends you money even when it isn't a credit card. On those occasions when you have to get paid by someone with a credit card just have them send it to a buddy's commercial account and have your buddy transfer the net amount to you. Since you are going to be using your account primarily for buying a personal account should work fine.
