To all participants of ALCS 7th game pool

OPEN LETTER TO ALL PARTICIPANTS OF THE ALCS 7th GAME $1 CHIP POOL

There seems to be some confusion on just who won that pool. Both Chris Borroff and myself had picked "Boston - 13 runs total". The final score was Boston 10-3.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED:

I posted the pool announcement at 12:41 AM using my regular computer.

I posted my guess at 1:04 AM (23 minutes later), but because I used a different computer, the BBS software did not recognize me, and "held" my posting until the BBS administater could review it.

At 4:22 AM Chris posted his pick; it seemed valid because mine was not up yet.

About 8 AM my pick was reviewed and posted with a time indicating 1:04 AM. This is why the postings are out of order!

I did not check the ChipBoard again until 5PM when I noticed the 2 identical picks.
I e-mailed Chris so he could make another pick and posted the "Already Picked" on the board (because I thought he just did not see my earlier posting).

My mistake was not realizing (at that time) what had happened.

So, who won the pool?

As poolmaster, I will call it a tie. We should each receive 1 chip. Many of you have already sent me 2 chips, and I will send half of all the chips I receive to Chris Borroff.

Chris, Please post your snail mail address.

All this might seem like "Much ado about little", but I value my reputation as being fair and honest. I do offer my apologies to anyone who feels offended or wronged.

AND, I will not try to run 4 pools at the same time again.
