...donno if the Democrats who tried to have the draft reinstated in Congress have kids of draft age or not, but that wasn't the reason they wrote the legislation, put it up for a vote, then voted against it. They were for it, then against it, then they're saying Bush will put it into place, saying that is an affront to the poor and minorities. I guess if you have no position that you believe in, the way you go about getting elected to public office, if you are a Democrat, is to espouse every position. Say you're for it at one time or another, and you cover all the bases and hope enough people are stupid enough to believe the times you said the things they agree with are reason enough to vote for them.

There will be no draft under Bush's second term. Our volunteer military is the best in the world. It does need to be properly funded, and you won't get that from a Democrat in the Whitehouse. ...or from a Democrat controlled congress.
