Collecting Fun vs. eBay (3)

3. eBay is a huge garage sale. Almost anything goes. There is no continuity or structure to the offerings. One day you will find a gem, the next day garbage, with a good mix of fraudulent practices and mis-represented items. Sometimes this is fun, but it is a big drain on time and occasionally extremely frustrating, especially when one is cheated. Buyers and sellers will come and go. What sells for $30.- today may fetch only $3.- next week, or vice versa. Collecting Fun serves well defined niches, has access to the buyers and sellers in those niches, has continuity by design and is structured around those niches. This also means professionalism, price stability for sellers, and price reliance for buyers. Auctions do not mean that the seller will get top dollar for an item, nor do they mean that the buyer will get a great deal. In fact these cases are mostly the exceptions. It all depends on who is bidding at what time. Professionals who follow every item in a niche will only look for bargains, others drop in from time to time. In comparison, at Collecting Fun, the seller's item, listed at a fair price, will eventually find its buyer, and both sides will benefit from the transaction in a low stress environment.
