Collecting Fun vs. eBay (2)

2. eBay is mainly an auction site. Collecting Fun is a fixed price site. When the right buyer comes by, the seller's item will be sold. A seller can list an item elsewhere as well and simply remove it from Collecting Fun if sold. Although items are listed at fixed prices, the seller and buyer can always negotiate, if so inclined, since they deal directly with each other.

There are time limitations with eBay due to the auction environment. If an item does not sell within 7 days, a seller has to do something about it. Two no sells mean two listing fees paid, then one more to get it listed a third time. At Collecting Fun, once listed, an item can stay there indefinitely, sellers only pay monthly fees based on total inventory (after the free promotional period, and at full rate, this is only $10 per month base fee for up to a total of $750 inventory for the month, at lower rates for more). With eBay, the listing and re-listing fees can add up to significant amounts. With Collecting Fun, a seller will know the fees quite accurately.
