eBay Pollution Control

eBay has added a new feature to the search engine that helps greatly in eliminating unwanted casino items from your search. Rather than trying to guess what description terms sellers might use to list items you're not interested in, you can just exclude the auctions of those sellers who mainly sell this stuff. I know, one of them might sometime list a chip you ARE interested in, but after all, you can't look at every chip offered for sale anyway.

The feature is found in the advanced scan screen, and is called "From specific sellers". If you're adding this to an existing search stored on your MyEbay screen, you can use the "Refine Search" link to do the same thing.

I have included these 6 sellers and find most of the home play sets have disappeared from my search screens:

7445 schmedspub bailando_sol mygooddealnet mtaillefer.

There may have to be other additions in the future, but you can exclude up to 10 sellers this way. These 6 sellers accounted for 42 auctions, or 5% of the lots that pass my normal search screen for a 10 day search period. If you have looser specs for your personal search, you'll likely eliminate even more, as I also screen out the usual descriptive words for this kind of merchandise (which took out about 200 lots for this same sample period).

Good luck!
