Yes. It was based on the fact that searches through the chips prior to July 2003 by myself and many others had always revealed around one chip with a code per 12 checked. I actually talked to the cage manager about this last year and he kindly let me buy 5 racks of old ones from the bank to take away and check. I found 32 with codes on that occasion. All of the ones I found were the same code both sides.

I mention 'old' and 'prior to July 2003' as 10,000 new $1's were released to go with the estimated 20,000 from before. The new ones do not have the codes.

I am estimating that out of a total of 30,000 chips there are maybe 1700 with codes. Divide that by the number of different combinations of codes (although Im sure same both sides are more common) and its fair to say there are 'not many'.

I think the TCR values are low merely because not many people are interested in these.

I found 32 last year and had another 5 from elsewhere. Ive got 4 chips left and have sold 33. Ive probably sold 150 blank ones in the same time frame.
