JFK the liberal?

To this day, Paul, the assassinations of JFK and his brother remain two events which I consider most traumatic, personally and for our country.

It's probably fair to say that Bobby was somewhat more "liberal" than JFK on some issues, but both were (as you note regarding JFK) classically conservative (or libertarian, if you will) on others. In today's terms, I don't think JFK would be considered very "liberal" at all, particularly on matters of foreign affairs.

There are several reasons he remains a "hero" to me, including the way he handled the Cuban missile crisis, the impetus he provided to the space program and, perhaps most of all, because he made us all proud to be Americans.
