Silver Dollar Saloons -Elko and LV

Our friend Paul Hegge is lucky enough to be cruising Nevada the next few weeks. I was taking advantage of the state's 75 mph speed limit a couple of years ago when I yanked the Buick over to poke around in Elko. Standing at the edge of the east bound lane for this pic. No chips/games at this place any longer but that sign sure did look familiar... Got a nice chip at the now-gone table at Gold Country and picked out several Cowboy Poetry pieces across at the Red Lion and listened to some good stories at Stockman's (Mooo).

Picked up this chip at June's Riviera thing at the first trade session. "THAT'S a NICE chip!" someone said later in the evening. "Wow!" said I when I looked it up in TCR #10, I didn't know I had anything to trade for this beauty. Gotta love our big-hearted chipper bros and sisters! No gaming going on now at the LV location either I guess. Don't know the lineage of the hat and dollar so if anyone wants to share...please do. The Las Vegas house had mostly hotstamps but a couple of inlaid Christy & Jones that I'll be scouting over the next few years as well as some coin-in-center chips.
