Re: Poker Spinners
In Response To: Poker Spinners ()

Some of the fancy enameled spinners look cool and I have thought of picking one or two up. However the cost kind of turns me off a little right now. I have just picked up a couple of $5 tokens from casinos and use them. I put them into Airtites. There are two that I have. One is kind of sentemental. I picked a couple of them up from Hollywood Aurora, IL as souvenirs on one of my first dates with my girlfriend. The other just struck me with it's cheracter. I picked it up last summer at Golden Nugget. It is brass(?) and has a real dark patina to it. I carefully cleaned it by applying some MAAS metal polish to a paper towel and rubbing it in. Then, with the towel on the table I laid the token flat and just rubbed it back and forth a few times to clean the raised features. I left the dark patina underneath.

The quality isn't all that great as I don't have good natural light right now. Little blurred do to having to hand hold the camera. I tried to use the camera flash but it washes out the quality of the detail. Here is a photo of the GN token that I use.
