Just came back from Rapid City and Deadwood area. Hit a bunch of Antique Stores and junk shops.

In many of these small towns I have dealers watching for stuff I collect and they just put it back and when I show up again we haggle over price.

I went into Ken's place and he had some nice stuff for me. Then I told him I was going to start collecting chips. Previously chips were not on my want list. He says, "Jeez, you may have really missed the boat."

He starts telling me about this cigar box full of chips he bought at an auction in Montana. Figured there were about 250 in it.Ken said they were all from Nevada..lots from Vegas and Reno and alot from little towns. Said, he hadn't heard of most of the places so he figured if he could get 50 cents apiece for them he would be about tripling his money for what he paid for them.

He said a guy that told him he was from Nevada came in and asked about chips and he brought the box out and told him 50 cents apiece, your choice. He said the guy seemed really excited. He pawwed thru them and then just told Ken to count them up and give him a total. He said he was so nervous he was shaking and dropping chips all over.

Ken said, "I think I may have f****d up on that deal."

I am sure that is the case....There is some lucky guy out there that got them...My request for chips is now on Ken's list...DAMN!!!

Wonder what all was in there???
