They have been reproduced. In fact, the Par A Dice cover I showed this week has been reproduced, but not exactly. I don't believe there are organized efforts to reproduce the covers to sell for a profit, at least not yet.

The cardboard used for the older matchcovers is not used anymore so the older ones would be hard to reproduce if you know what to look for. They are lithographed, just like the inlays on chips so it would be possible. There are other differences in the full books, like the size of the staple, and whether it has the proper amount of rust for its age that make the full books less subject to antique reproduction.
