1906 Our hotel opens to public. Room and Board: $1 per day. Local newspaper publishes guest register on front page and describes hotel (then Hotel Nevada) as "first-class," with "large" rooms (10'x10'), and electric lighting. No air conditioning. Original rooms (with modern improvements) are still in use-the oldest hotel in Las Vegas!

1931 Hotel expands and changes name to "Sal Sagev," Las Vegas spelled backwards. "Cooling plant" to be added."
