Ed, I tried to reply to your post about CA chips yesterday, but had a few computer problems. I have some info on the Square Deal Jim / 186 – Eddy chips. This is from an ebay listing for a set (3) of the chips. The seller was John Johannes. You may want to contact him directly as he has lots of info on CA chips.

The Adrian Hotel was at 493 Eddy , the Belmont Hotel was at 730 Eddy , the Empress Hotel was at 144 Eddy (practically next door) , the Fairfax Hotel was at 420 Eddy , the Imperial Hotel was at 951 Eddy ,the Langham Hotel was close at 141 Eddy , the Ormond Hotel was at 440 Eddy , the Rand Hotel was at 364 Eddy , the Ritz Hotel was close at 216 Eddy .
The owner / operator of this illegal S.F. card room was rumored to be an unsavory character who went by the name of James " Square Deal Jim " Sullivan . He was arrested by local authorities on many occasions, but seems to have never been convicted of any crimes.”

You also listed the “49 Camp” chip as attributed to San Francisco. I believe these chips are from Oakland.

Finally, you list “Hi-Hat” chips as from SF. May I ask you to post your info? I have these in my “possible” SF file, but have never seen an attribution I could live with.
