Rich; The trick is not to pay any attention to the position of the outter brass rim, as the silver centers can easily be popped out and rotated manually ... or even substituted with a brass outter ring from another casino. What you are looking for is the degree of rotation when looking at the silver center design only.

If you will take any US coin out of your pocket, you will notice that the obverse and reverse sides are one right side up the other upside down, sometimes called "flip". On medal (or token) alignments in this case (non-flip), both obverse and reverse designs are the same relationship (right side up) when rotating the coin horizontally (left to right or right to left ... vs. rotating a coin vertically (top to bottom).
