Las Vegas Chipper passes away

Audrey Zaslawsky passed away recently. She was always seen at the Las Vegas Club meetings and the local chip shows with her husband LeRoy, both in hats and never seperated. Below is a copy of her printed obituary and a photo of both her and LeRoy.

She will be missed by many.

ZASLAWSKY, AUDREY

Audrey Zaslawsky, 72, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, 13 days before her 73rd birthday (Sept. 15, 1931). She was a retired school teacher from Southern California, where she had a distinguished career. She is survived by her beloved husband, LeRoy; and four children: Cheryl Zaslawsky of Menlo Park, Calif., Debra McGuire of Las Vegas, David Zaslawsky of Prattville, Ala. and Gary Zaslawsky of Granada Hills, Calif. She also leaves four grief stricken grandchildren: James and Katy McGuire, and Josh and Zoe Zaslawsky. Audrey moved to Las Vegas in 1989, and she loved and enjoyed her life in this city. Audrey was an opera lover and she really was an avid fan of important plays. This intellectual lady was also a fine handicapper and a frequent sports bettor. Her mind was first class, her interests varied and her life full. Audrey had that rare capacity of inspiring love and affection in nearly everone she met. Now my angel is gone, but she rests with Mimi and Rodolfo, with Mario and Tosca, and of course with Romeo and Juliette, and she waits for her beloved mate LeRoy after 56 years of marriage to join her in this illustrious pantheon. Addio sweet angel.
