Want to join the Google Gmail beta test?

Google is currently beta testing a new e-mail site called Gmail. It's a browser-based e-mail that organizes your e-mail traffic into "conversations" where mail sent and received about the same subject are grouped together. It also includes a search feature so you can search your messages. You also get 1,000 megabytes of storage, so you can archive everything and don't need to delete messages.

The only way to take part in the beta test is by invitation. I have three invitations to send to the first three people who post a response, including the e-mail address you want me to send the invitation to and who sincerely want to try it. These are being sold on eBay for anywhere from $.01 to a few bucks, but I'd rather mine go to somebody who wants to try the product.

Keep in mind this is a beta test and Google reserves the right to discontinue the product or change the way it works. Most people think they will roll this out to the general public fairly soon. By getting in on the beta test, you can pick your username, providing it's not already taken.

You can click here for more details on how the account works:

By the way, chances are I may get more invitations to give away, so if you aren't one of the first three, go ahead and post your response and I'll send you an invitation if I get more. Once you start using your account, you'll probably get some invitations to give away too.
