captbanjo--in his defense

(See "chip values" 8/27/04 7:25 PM) I have to put in a good word for captbanjo. I've been buying from him for quite a while and he's been an excellent seller (ebay rating 1500+ and 100%). He uses a known price guide so anyone with the book can verify the identity and range of values of the cheque. In case you haven't noticed, he starts his bids at $0.99; not the tactic of someone trying to screw the public...on the contrary, if there's only one bid on an item, he may end up taking a real bath. If he were really trying to catch a sucker, he'd put high reserves on his items. Concerning those two items mentioned, I am bidding on those. I've been watching that $25 Binion's arodie for months and have lost at least 5-6 times. I know from experience that they will go in the $20s and so I bid accordingly and since there are quite a few out there, I will eventually get one (at my price). I already have one of that $5 Binion's arodie which I bought for about $10, I saw captbanjo's at $0.99 and thought it was worth trying to get another one on the cheap to average down. So much for captbanjo taking advantage of my gullibility!!!
