Re: SHIPPING CHARGES
In Response To: Re: SHIPPING CHARGES ()

You don't even have to drive to the post office, just drop it in a box, or hand it to the carrier. However if you do go, because you want them to slap the postage on and insurance and confirmed delivery, for example, do you only take one envelope at a time, or maybe carry a few each tme. So how does someone justify charging each of the buyers for that time and trip to the post office? Or does it mean that in your daily travels, you have to make some special trip to be near a post office? I'm not buying it...

Aside from that disagreement, I do agree with the listing fees, time, mailers, and after sales fees as being covered by the BUYER.

The easiest way is calculate your costs, it's not hard. Take the price you want, the listing fee, the cost of the tape, mailer, paper, staples,, whatever you think is above the cost of the item, and start the bidding there, plus a reasonable postage.

I'll say it again. I'll sell you any of the current $1 chips from Wisconsin casinos, for $3 each and charge no shipping. I'll make the same deal for $5 chips at $7 each... I pay the shipping. I'll even sell some obsoletes for this price. ALL YOU WANT!

Last word for this go around on the issue. If I see someone asking what I consider "too much" for shipping, I just don't bid on their item. OR I look at the final cost and see how much I'm willing to pay, including the attempt on their part to make Shipping a profit source, avoid eBay fees, and jack up prices. If it's still under my total, I don't care, then I bid what I'm wlling to pay.

Too much whining about this. I suggest that every time one of us doesn't bid on a chip, because of shady shipping or expensive shipping, that we drop a note to the seller and say, in a polite manner. I like your chip(s), but I won't be bidding on any of them because of your shipping policy.

Pretty soon the people who are "charging too much" will get a hint.
