This reminds me of...
Howard Lederer's Poker Camp soon to be held at the Palms. The camp includes (I'm recalling this from memory, so don't shoot me if I'm not 100% correct)...
3 days accomodations at the Palms
.5 day tutoring by Lederer or other pro (Phil Gordon and Chris Ferguson)
2.5 days of tournament play with the 3 pros and other attendees. Reportedly there is $50K in prize money available in the tournament.
All for only $3500 (to the best of my memory).
My disappointment was not necessarily the high price of the camp, but the fact that you're only getting a half-day of tutoring and then the rest is tournament play. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like an obscenely profitable way for the pro's to line up a tournament. I would've thought it would've been 3 days of tutoring to give you your money's worth - I mean, that's why you'd go right? To learn something, not just to play in a tournament. Why not just host a $3500 buy-in tournament?? (not like I have $3500 to blow on poker camp anyway LOL
