Hope all Florida chippers will be safe.

My son in Orland says all business are closing down. They have wrapped their computers in plastic at Seimens. Most stores shelves are empty. Due to hit at 4PM.
I also have 2 sons in the Jacksonville area.

I have best friend who reported about an hour ago:

They are now saying that the storm will pass Ft Meyers about 75 miles off-shore about 2pm this afternoon. It may become a category 3 hurricane before it gets here. They have evacuated all the barrier islands and low areas. Gov Bush reports that 2 million people are on the move to safer inland areas. Storm surge will be the major problem as they are predicting 10-15' surge. Unfortunately high tide in Charlotte Harbor is at the same time, so the surge will be on top of the high tide. Our house is safe from flooding except for category 4/5 hurricanes. Nobody can predict where the possible small, but numerous tornado's might occur. However, not to worry. Bev made enough food that if we eat it all, there is no way we could be blown away!!!!!!
