I think if I were you I'd put it in an airtite. Are you saying it cracked on it's own as far as you know? Perhaps the cardboard in the dansco album is sucking some kind of moisture or oil from the chip, resulting in a crack. Just a WILD guess and is probably VERY unlikely. But, you can't hardly go wrong in an airtite.
