NCR Ross Poppel's BankNote Selection for Today!

Ross Poppel, winner of the Money Quiz, picked today’s selection. He has chosen Zimbabwe. Plus, he supplied some of the material as well as many Zimbabwe notes to me years ago!

The Republic of Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia or Southern Rhodesia) is located in east- central part of southern Africa. Capital is Harare (formerly Salisbury). Zimbabwe uses the Dollar as their unit of currency. The face of all denominations of their notes share common features one are the rocks stacked up. These are the giant outcropping of granite called the Matapos Rocks. Matapos National Park is a protected home for many black and white rhinos as well as other wildlife. Also the common watermark is the Zimbabwe bird. The back of the $20 note is the Victoria falls known worldwide. ENJOY!

100.00 ZWD Zimbabwe Dollars = 0.0189970 USD United States Dollars
500 Dollars is Zimbabwe’s largest note.
